TETFUND to probe utilisation of education tax in 20 years

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) is to investigate the utilisation of the two per cent education tax fund provided by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for public tertiary institutions since 1999.

Besides, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Fund have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deploy emerging technologies for digital inclusion in tertiary institutions nationwide.

TETFUND’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, who hinted of the probe at the MOU signing in Abuja, disclosed that teams had been put in place to embark on impact assessment of TETFUND interventions in the last 20 years in universities polytechnics and colleges of education.
