Telecoms operators undermining 38m Nigerians, says regulator
The infrastructure deficit and other lapses by telecommunications operations are resulting in the neglect or under-servicing of 38 million Nigerians, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has disclosed.
Its Executive Vice Chairman and chief executive, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, made the disclosure at the weekend during the 14th yearly Distinguished Electrical and Electronic Engineer Lecture and Special Fellowship Conferment in Kano.
He submitted that operators must increase infrastructure deployment to satisfy the increasing demands of subscribers owing to the capital intensiveness of the industry.
