tarabaTHE Chairman Caretaker Committee of Zing local Government Council of Taraba State, Alhaji Haruna Konko, has resigned.

Also not comfortable with the portfolio assigned to him, the Commissioner of Town and Urban Development, Alhaji Aminu Jika, has rejected the portfolio.

Apart from Jika, The Guardian reliably gathered that some other commissioners who were dissatisfied with the portfolio allocated to them, may also throw in the towel.

Briefing reporters in Jalingo, Konko attributed his action to the incessant threats to his life and that of his family members.
He said that since the demise of the monarch of Zing, Alhaji Abbas Ibrahim Sambo, he and his family no longer go to bed with two eyes closed.
Konko who said he decided to resign in the interest of the peace and security of his family and that of the local government, agreed that he has been undergoing constant intimidation and harassment from the hands of ‘top stakeholders’ from the area.
