Tambuwal dissolves governing boards
Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State has approved the dissolution of the Governing Boards of all government departments and parastatal agencies in the state.
The directive was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Malam Imam Imam, on Friday in Sokoto.
Tambuwal said the dissolution would not affect any board whose tenure was guaranteed by the Constitution or extant laws of the state.
The governor thanked those affected for the services they redered to the state and directed that, “accounting officers in the affected establishments should ensure proper handing over of government offices and properties.”

The dissolution was a normal democratic process for a new government in place. The serene atmosphere in the state and the cordial relationship between the immediate past administration and the new administration now headed by Governor Aminu Tambuwal have contributed largely to the seamless dissolution of the governing board.
I hope the new administration will constitute well-seasoned governing members who can help it transform the state rapidly within the available space of time. The wealth of experience garnered by the Governor at the national level will no doubt play a vital role in helping the state becoming one of the prosperous states economically and socially and also help resusciate every other ailing sector of the state economy seriously begging for attention.
We will review and take appropriate action.
