Suspected hoodlums have attacked the convoy of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso at Kofa town in Kano.

Kwankwaso, who was said to be in Kofa town in Bebeji local government area of the state for last round of PDP campaign, was invaded by suspected thugs of his political opponents.

A source told The Guardian that scores of Kwankwasiyya’s supporters were injured and about 40 vehicles destroyed.

A spokesperson of the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Kano, Sanusi Bature, who confirmed the incidence, alleged that political thugs believed to be sponsored by the member representing Kiru/Bebeji at the House of Representatives Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa was responsible for the attack. He said no death recorded so far.

Commissioner of Police in Kano, Mohammad Wakili, confirmed the attack. He, however, said the detail of the attack is still scanty.

Efforts to speak with member representing Kofa/Bebeji federal constituency Abdulmumuni Jibirin Kofa on the attack was not successful as he did not respond to calls put across to him.
