Sule appeals to NPA to build Nasarawa port
Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule has appealed to the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) to build a port that will connect the state with others in the region.
The Governor made the appeal in Lafia during the donation of 100 sewing and grinding machines to women and youths by NPA in conjunction with Halkoff Logistics International Limited.
Sule who noted that NPA is known for its water development projects, said with his proposed Tunga project, the establishment of a port in the state would be of great importance to his administration.
While expressing appreciation for the gesture, the Governor urged beneficiaries not to sell the items but utilise it judiciously for business.
Presenting the items, General Manager, NPA, Hajiya Hadiza Bala Mohammed said NPA was involved in corporate social responsibilities over the years.
Represented by the Assistant General Manager, Corporate and Strategic Communications, Mr. Ibrahim Nasir, Mohammed said the donation was aimed at raising standards of living as well as creating employment opportunities for women and youths across the nation.
