Southeast APC congratulates governor-elect

THE Southeast zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated the Imo State electorate for voting for her candidate, Rochas Okorocha, as governor of the state.

APC said the ‘verdict’ for Okorocha was a worthy reward that demonstrated the maxim that “election is a referendum on performance of the incumbent.”

In a statement signed by the Southeast Publicity Secretary of the party, Osita Okechukwu, APC said Okorocha’s victory in Imo State has enlisted the zone in the hall of fame of the Progressives Governors Forum.
The party said: “We had appealed to the good people of Imo State to re-elect Governor Rochas Okorocha, the candidate of our great party, which they graciously heeded.

“We had urged the good people of Imo State to complete the good works they started, for a vote for Owelle Rochas Okorocha is a golden vote to retain the only egg Ndigbo has in the basket of the new Nigeria
General Muhammadu Buhari (GMB) is constructing.

‘Southeast with golden vote is now guaranteed a place in the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), for it could have been a poor outing as all the geo-political zones, including the South South, has a member governor in the PGF.”

APC congratulated Okorocha for his ‘well-deserved victory’ and urged him to continue with his programmes.

“We reason that the free education and other pro-people programmes are the political capital upon which the people voted overwhelmingly for

“We commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting free, fair and transparent election, and their vigilance, as evidenced by the arrest of hoodlums at Oru East Local Government
Area, who wanted to mangle the election.

Owelle Rocha’s victory is suiting balm to Southeast APC, without which history would not have forgotten Ndigbo for putting all our eggs in one basket, which is why we appealed,” the APC said.
