Seven persons have been confirmed dead and four injured in a motor accident at Osara in Adavi Local Council Area of Kogi State.

Seven persons have been confirmed dead and four injured in a motor accident at Osara in Adavi Local Council Area of Kogi State.

The accident occurred barely one week after 25 people were burnt in a tanker accident in Felele-Lokoja-Abuja road.

An eyewitness, Mohammed Imgiyaaz said the accident happened at around 4:00p.m. on Monday at a popular sawmill junction.

He told journalists that the victims were returning from Lokoja markets where they had gone to buy some food items.

According to him, the victims were crowded in the vehicle, which was overloaded by the driver with their food items.

It was further leant that the driver of the truck who rammed into the vehicle fled for fear of being attacked by villagers in the area.

Confirming the incident, the state Head Of Operation, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Suleiman Mohammed said five passengers died, while four others were injured.

Mohammed, who appealed to motorists to be cautious while driving, explained that the families of the deceased victims haD been contacted for their burial.
