School graduates 69, urges govt to support growth in sector

To boost the quality of education in the country and raise the bar in academic excellence, stakeholders have been called upon to support government’s efforts in turning the sector around for sustainable development.

The Principal, Bishop Howells Memorial Grammar School, Bariga, Lagos, Rev. Babatunde Osunyomi who made the call at the school graduation and prize giving ceremony said all hands must be on deck to make the sector better.

“Everyone has a role to play to make the education sector better. On our part, we have tried to impart basic knowledge into our students,” he said.

Osunyomi noted that the mission school is trying to positively impart the lives of the students through teaching of skills such as catering, garment making, and others to make them self-dependent.

According to him, education should not be only be restricted to the classroom, priority attention should be paid to skill acquisition.

He disclosed that the school graduated 32 students from the senior class government soliciting for government’s assistance in the funding of mission schools.

Executive Secretary, Lagos Anglican School Management Board, Ven. Victor Ayo Olusa, noted that the essence of the award was to motivate and propel the students to greater heights.
