In Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, the hardship over fuel scarcity which started some weeks ago, got to an intolerable level on yesterday when many trekked to their destinations, as many commercial vehicles were off the roads due to lack of fuel. Private cars that were on the roads were very few due to the same reason.

Many workers, including civil servants get to their offices late. There were unusual long queues at the few fuel stations that had supply , especially at the NNPC station at Ibrahim Babangida Boulevard, Oke-Mosan and the Total and Texaco stations at Oke-Itoku and Isale-Igbehin respectively.

Mr. Lateef Idowu, a taxi driver told The Guardian that as at 4 am, he was at the NNPC station to fill his tank, but he was only able to get the product at 5 pm.

Oladipo Moshood, a health worker, told The Guardian that we “ we are suffering,” adding that there has “not been light and money.”
