In line with its mission to reduce poverty by empowering its immediate community, the Rotary Club of Ikeja has sponsored five youths from Agidingbi, Ipodo Market and Olusosun communities for a six-week vocational training programme.

The vocational skills , which were in hair dressing, catering and interior decorations, the club’s President, Tosin Kadiri, said was aimed at equipping the beneficiaries with necessary skills required to prepare for better future.

Apart from the training, the club took a step further to empower them by providing the tools and materials needed to start up their businesses.

Speaking on the programme, the community leader of Olusosun community in Oregun , Ikeja Lagos, who gave his name simply as Alhaji Yusuf expressed profound gratitude to members of Rotary Club of Ikeja for this good gesture which has set another career path in the lives of the beneficiaries.

He gave kudos to Rotary International and particularly, members of Rotary Club of Ikeja that had implemented numerous development programmes that positively impacted on their communities in various ways.
