IT was a moment of joy and happiness for children of the SOS village, Isolo, as the Rotary Club of Ikeja treated them to a Christmas party, that was replete with dancing competitions, quizzes and distribution of gifts. There were also squeals of excitement from the kids and scintillating acrobatic dance steps to the amazement of spectators.

Apart from the children, their care-givers and members of the Rotary Club of Ikeja, led by the President, Mr. Tosin Kadiri, celebrated with the children with melodious song of praises to God for keeping them alive to witness another Christmas season.

Kadiri said the party was informed by the passion to celebrate with the less privileged. “At a time when many children are celebrated by their parents, it is good to celebrate with these children to make them happy and feel belonged as part of the society. I feel happy with the kids today because this is one of our annual programme at the club and we did not disappoint them this year.”

Elated by the gesture, the Village Father, Mr. Felix Ebhota, described the club as a strong partner in terms of support towards the SOS village. Such events, he said, is the kind of partnership needed by the village. He, therefore, implored other organisations to borrow a leaf from Rotary Club of Ikeja and come to the aid of SOS Village with similar interventions.

We have been able to stay over 42 years because of the love and partnership with charitable organisations and I want to assure individuals, corporate bodies and organisations that every single donation to SOS village is well accounted for and can be seen in the appearance of the children,” he added.
