The Rotary Club, Festac Town, Lagos, has given out some equipment worth millions of naira to some unemployed youths and single mothers in Festac community as a way of encouraging them to start up small businesses and be employers of labour.

The equipment include four sewing machines, five grinding and three popcorn making machines.
 
Speaking at the presentation, president of the club, Felix Nnamezie, said the items were to help beneficiaries who have acquired diverse skills in sewing, grinding, milling and production of popcorn, but could not afford the necessary machines to start the businesses to do so.

He added that some of the beneficiaries are single mothers that need to be empowered to take care of themselves and their children, noting that the equipment were procured with grant from District 9110 of Rotary Club.
