Rotary Club of Akowonjo installs third female president, Olabisi Taiwo

The Rotary Club of Akowonjo is set to commission this month various projects in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Akowonjo, the club’s immediate catchment community, which also is the largest local council in Lagos State.

This was disclosed by the president of Rotary Club of Akowonjo, Rotn. Olabisi Taiwo, during her investiture as the third female president of the 33-year-old club. She said the projects would be commissioned by the District Governor, Rotn. Kola Sodipo, whose visit to the club is scheduled for Monday, August 20.

She identified the projects for commissioning to include the ICT facility at Abati/Rauf Aregbesola Primary School, Alimosho; flag off of the 2018 Adult Literacy Programme; launch of a new Adult Literacy Signage erected for the school by her club; tree planting at the school’s premises and donations to the Little Saints Orphanage, Shasha, Alimosho.

She said: “In accordance with Rotary’s six areas of focus and under my leadership, Youth Empowerment Scheme; Expansion of Library and ICT facilities at Rauf Abati/Aregbesola Primary Schools; donation of food items and clothing to IDP/orphanages, among others are part of our projects for the 2018 – 2019 project year.”
