Gunmen-kill-five-policemenTHE Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 6, Calabar, Baba Bolanta, has declared war against criminals in the zone, especially in Rivers State, promising the citizens a crime-free Yuletide.

Bolanta, who spoke in Port Harcourt, after a meeting with Air Force, Army and naval commanders in the state, had earlier met with traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders, charging them to ensure zero tolerance for crime during and after the Yuletide.

“Zone Six Command is warning trouble makers to stay out of trouble. The zone will not overlook any infringement of the law.

“No crime is minor as far as the zone is concerned. Criminals should, therefore, have a rethink, as the long arm of the law will catch up with criminals, as perpetrators will be made to face the law.

“We assure the people of our ability and capability to protect them. In this respect, all sections of the force will be deployed,” the AIG assured.

“Zone Six Command has zero tolerance for crime and criminality. The police and the communities of Rivers State will together ensure crime-free ember months and hitch-free Christmas and New Year celebrations and beyond, with adequate security for lives and property of our beloved people of Rivers State,” Bolanta added.
