The Plateau State Police Command recorded another breakthrough of nabbing two notorious robbery gangs terrorizing the residents of Hwolshe of Jos South. The Police in Anglo Jos, acting on information unraveled the true identity and status of a man in Hwolshe area of Jos South as one Alex Pam who was operating as a cab driver and was arrested following a tip off by some youths of the area and was said to be a threat to the inhabitants of the community.

According to them, “It was yesterday morning that luck ran out for the culprit who hides under the cover of being a taxi driver who was accosted by the youth for alleged car battery theft.” The angry mob went to his house and several items were uncovered including many car batteries.

The youths invited the police and after further search, several other incriminating items were uncovered by the police including some military hardware, different identity cards and huge sums of money including foreign currencies.

They told reporters that the police whisked off the suspect to Anglo Jos Division after the raid. However, some members of the community say the man could be a linkman or an informant to some gangs unleashing terror on residents.

Police Spokesman, Assistant Superintendent Tyopev Mathias Terna confirmed the arrest but declined to speak further as according to him, the man is still being investigated with a view to unraveling his possible collaborators.
