Police arrest four suspected cultists in Rivers State

The Rivers State Police Command have arrested four cult kingpins suspected to have been the brains behind the incessant cult wars in Rumuolumeni Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Nnamdi Omoni, disclosed that officers of the Rumuolumeni Police Station arrested the gang following a tip-off.

Omoni in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday, said the suspected cultists were arrested with one revolver pistol and three live ammunitions, adding that they have made useful statements.

“In a bid to stem the tide of the rising cult activities in the state, operatives of the Rumuolumeni Police Station on April 18, 2019 about 9pm, in a sting operation, arrested these cultists,” he said

He, however, noted that efforts were on to arrest other members of the gang, stating that they would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

He said the suspects are, Godstime Rossi Wamaru 20, from Ogbakiri in Emohua Local Council, Miracle Ogbonna, 22 from Abia State, Raymond Abdullahi Mamode, 21 from Edo State and Gift Ugbena Douglas, 20 from Andoni, Rivers State.
