The Kayode Fayemi Campaign Office has uncovered an alleged plot by Governor Ayodele Fayose and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to carry out coordinated attacks on supporters of former Governor Segun Oni.According to the claim, the attackers would pretend to be working for the Minister of Mines and Steel Development and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

In a statement, the minister’s spokesman, Yinka Oyebode, noted that the plan has reached an advanced stage. He said it was designed by Fayose to cause disharmony between the two former governors and their supporters.

“According to information, the assailants would carry out the dastardly act, wearing JKF (John Kayode Fayemi)-branded materials and making insinuations that would establish a possible link to the Fayemi political camp.

“Security agencies in the state are hereby alerted to this clandestine move by the PDP goons, aimed at introducing violent dimension to the politics of the state ahead of the July 14 governorship election,” he said.

He urged all supporters and members of the APC to remain vigilant and shun any form of violence during the electioneering period, and report any act of intimidation to law enforcement agencies. The campaign office reiterated the position of the APC leadership that all members of the party should unite and work together for the success of the party in the coming election.
