The Plateau State Government has raised the alarm that there were plans to scuttle the fragile peace being enjoyed in the state since the All Progressives Congress (APC) government assumed office in May 2015.

Consequently, Governor Simon Boko Lalong has directed the full implementation of the ban on commercial motorcycles and the restriction of tricycles between 9pm and 6am daily.

A statement yesterday by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Emmanuel Samuel Nanle said security operatives, the task force on enforcement and neighbourhood vigilante organisations have been directed to boost enforcement of the ban by impounding and arresting defaulters.

Lalong cautioned that government would not fold its hands and watch any individual or groups threaten the peace of the state and enjoined all communities to identify and report any persons or groups likely to constitute themselves into a threat to the peace and tranquility in Plateau.

The statement was issued against the backdrop of an incident at Yandoya and Dilimi Junction, where a traffic warden was manhandled by motorcyclists in the area.
