Simon Lalong, the governor of Plateau State

PLATEAU State government said it would be ready to work with any organisation that will strengthen the state’s policy aimed at encouraging industrial development and entrepreneurship in the mineral sector.

Governor Simon Lalong disclosed this yesterday, in Jos, the state capital, while declaring open the 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference of the Nigerian Society of Mining Engineers.
         
The governor was represented by his Deputy, Professor Sonni Tyodenar the conference tagged “Resurgence of the Mining Industry: A key to Revival of Nigerian Economy.”

According to the governor, the state government is partnering with other states that are naturally endowed with mineral resources for the establishment of the Solid Minerals Commission in the country.
