Plateau commissioner dies during jogging exercise

Plateau State Commissioner for Urban Development and Town Planning, Samuel Galadima, an architect, yesterday morning slumped and died at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium.

The incident happened when members of the state executive council were jogging with the governor.

Galadima slumped during the exercise and was immediately rushed to Plateau Specialists Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Rufus Bature said: “The late Samuel Galadima was part of the state executive council members participating in the regular forth-nightly physical exercise at the Jos Township Stadium when he slumped and was rushed to the Plateau State Specialist Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

“Due to this tragic loss, the governor has declared three days of mourning beginning from today (Wednesday) to Friday, March 24. He has also suspended all public functions during this period.”
