Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has used his performance in the last two and half years to worm himself into the hearts of opposition party leaders in the state, as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dr. Gabriel Igbinedion, has thrown his weight behind the governor, urging him to remain focused.

Chief Igbinedion endorsed Obaseki’s performance during a courtesy visit to the governor at the Government House, Benin City, to invite him to the 20th anniversary of Igbinedion University, Okada.

The endorsement came as political gladiators jostle for the candidature of different political parties in the Edo gubernatorial election coming up next year.

The PDP stalwart promised to join the governor to defeat politics of stomach infrastructure in the state.
