PDP faction to hold convention first quarter of 2017
A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff-led has said it would hold its national convention in the first quarter of 2017.
Dropping the hint while inaugurating a PDP executive for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) yesterday, Sheriff also declared that they were ready to abide by the decision of the court regarding the leadership dispute in the party.
He, however, restated his readiness to return to the reconciliation table with Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led PDP, whom he accused of trying to blackmail him over the raging leadership legal dispute.
Sheriff, who also spoke on the recent rerun polls in Rivers State, said an 11-man committee to investigate events arising from the poll would soon be set up.
