PCN cautions against drug abuse
Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) has cautioned against drug abuse among citizens.
It stated this yesterday at a stakeholders’ forum in Kaduna to brainstorm on the alarming statistics on drug use in the country and the way forward.
The World Drug Report (2019) had pegged the drug use prevalence in Nigeria at 14.4 million people between 15 and 64 years, which is higher when compared to global prevalence rate.
PCN Registrar, Elisha Mohammed, said curiosity and pressure were the major factors encouraging people, especially pupils and youths, to embark on non-medical drug use.
