Chairmen of political parties in Ogun State have condemned the reported adoption of governorship candidate of Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Adekunle Akinlade by Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC).

At a press conference in Abeokuta, they urged the public to disregard the adoption by chairman of IPAC, Abayomi Arabambi.

Spokesman of the Political Party Chairmen Forum, Olusegun Olufemi, said: “We reject in totality the adoption of any governorship candidate, the adoption by Arabambi is fake and an act of fraud.”

They expressed concern about the adoption, especially as there are 38 political parties in the state that have registered to contest in the 2019 general elections.

He said: “We were not carried along in the adoption by Arabambi-led executive. Its like bread and butter, endorsing any political party, his executive are fake masks that should be frowned at by the people.

“The IPAC’s chairman has over stepped his boundary and we will not fold our arms and watch him as he disgraces other members of the council.”

The spokesman disclosed that a petition about Arabambi’s ‘misbehaviour’ had been written to the National Chairman of IPAC.

When The Guardian contacted Arabambi, he insisted that he was misrepresented, saying: “We are friends of all the political parties, so we don’t have preference among them.”
