Oyo governor-elect, Makinde, assures all of good governance

The Oyo State governor-elect, Mr. Seyi Makinde, has said that everyone in the state will benefit from his administration.

Makinde stated this yesterday while speaking with newsmen during a thanksgiving service at The Cathedral of St. Peter, Aremo, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The governor-elect, who said his administration would rely on the wisdom of God and that everybody would benefit from the new government irrespective of religious or political affiliations, however urged the people to cast away the spirit of partisanship and co-operate with the new administration for the development of Oyo State.

Provost of the Cathedral, The Very Revd Andrew Adebiyi, who lauded Makinde for visiting the incumbent governor, Abiola Ajimobi, in his office, urged Christians to continue praying for the new government.

In another development, Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Charles Ugomuoh (rtd), has asked all the governorship candidates who lost at the just-concluded elections in Imo State to rally round the winner, Emeka Ihedioha of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to move the state forward.

Ugomuoh spoke at a press briefing in Owerri yesterday.

He said: “I call on our brothers who lost the election to sheathe their sword and stop dissipating energy and state resources wantonly on a wild goose chase.

“They should accept the reality of their defeat and move quickly to congratulate and embrace the winner,” he said.
