The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo yesterday, extolled the virtues of late Human rights lawyer and elder statesman, Dr. Tunji Braithwaite as he described him as a man, who stood for all right causes for so many years.

In similar vein, the Senator representing Lagos Central, on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, said Nigeria will greatly miss him, saying: “Dr.Braithwaite is one of the fearless critics needed to move Nigeria forward.

Speaking during a condolence visit to the family in Lagos yesterday, Prof. Osinbajo said the late legal icon was a good scholar, “who would always be remembered for his pursuit of jurispundence on credible issues, and law, especially natural laws. He stood for all the great causes.”

According to him, “Dr. Braithwaite stood for the Sovereign National Conference. He always insisted that there should be a dialogue, that this nation has to restructure with the national question among others.”

Senator Tinubu described the late political activist and one of the foremost lawyers as “one of the greats of our time.” She said the country would miss him, “because if you have a government and you don’t have people, who are bold enough, to criticise government, the country cannot move forward.”
