As Nigerians trooped out Monday to protest against the federal government’s shoddy handling of the economic crisis skyrocketing prices of food items, the presidency said it was not unaware of the hardships people face daily.

Acting president Yemi Osinbajo said the protesters’ pains were noted and that the government would work towards re-positioning the economy to ease them off.

“To those who are protesting, WE HEAR YOU loud and clear,” he tweeted. “We hear you loud and clear, those who are on the streets protesting the economic situation and even those who are not, but feel the pain of economic hardship.”

“We hear you loud and clear. You deserve a decent life and we are working night and day to make life easier.”

The protests championed by music star 2Face lost a bit of momentum when the Afro-pop singer pulled out, citing security concerns. His decision to stay off today’s protest divided opinions among Nigerians.

But his call to action had received widespread popular support and several civil society organisations vowed to carry on with the protest.

Though the Lagos command of the Nigerian police had warned against the demonstrations because of possibility of “breakdown of law and order with attendant loss of lives and property,” it, however,  provided security for the protesters.

*Don’t be fooled again*The economy is not the issue. The issue is YOU.

Are you angry at the corruption in the corporate world? OR
At the government for not doing enough or doing too much? OR
Are you angry at yourself for not taking control sooner?

Life is tough. The question is what are you doing about it? Groaning won’t secure your future , Neither will blaming the government. If you want a solid future you need to create it…*yourself*.

SO OSINBAJO, YOU GIVE NIGERIANS DECENT LIFE ONLY THROUGH YOUR EMPTY TALKS.??

AS A FIRST STEP, PAY UP ALL PENSION ARREARS TO FEDERAL PENSIONERS AND PAY SALARIES TO WORKERS IN TIME EVERY MONTH. WE DO NOT NEED ANY FAVOURS, WE SIMPLY WANT OUR RIGHTS.

This man is supposed to be a Pastor. Buhari is not coming back tomorrow. You should exercise full authority now. No excuses. Forward the name of the acting CJ to the Senate for confirmation. Constitute an Economic team to address the economic problems we are facing as NOBODY in the government today has an idea of what the solution should be. Treat as VERY URGENT and IMPORTANT. Please leave the mallams out of this. No more long grammar.
The masses are hungry and angry.

Be safe is better, bro. Exactly what Atiku failed to understand. Look what trouble he got from Baba. This country is suffering from many phobias. The NASS will not even listen or attend to Osinbajo. Even in America, VPs are not known to present such sensitive issues before Congress. Beside, Congress would prefer to set aside such issues until the Presido returns. Trust me, you would do same if you found yourself in Osinbajo’s shoes.

Osibanjo is playing some high wired game. He actually knows Buhari will NEVER come back again as a President, so he is preparing the ground for own selfish acceptance. GOD WILL DESTROY OSIBANJO THE WAY HE HAS DEALT A DEADLY BLOW TO MUMUHEAD BUHARI, INSHA ALLAH

Guys, this is guy a break. I despise APC cos of their lies but I see this guy as the last good one amongst them.
Osi baba, pls carry on. Do the needful and forget about that dullard we call a president. Do what needs to be done and even if he ever returns and not happy with you, just be rest assured that Nigerians will forever remain grateful. God Bless You

I am particularly worried about how 2face chickened out of this protest. I sounded to whoever wanted to hear that positive changes are not championed by RICHMEN like idibia. However this could have been an opportunity for him at least to pretend to be on the peoples side or to give back to the society that made him. He has decided already on the path of World history he wants to be in this sojourn of life. It is a pity, he needs more education than money, awards and firm combined. Now he knows that it is not easy to be a FELA ANIKULAPO KUTI

When Buhari was in Nigeria, you protested his style of fighting corruption. He is away from Nigeria, you continue to protest his temporary escape from the Giant of African in corruption. James Ibori, arrived in Nigeria, you celebrate him and honour his style of corruption. When Buhari shall arrive in Nigeria you will protest his continued desire to fight corruption. You all continue in evil doing and are praying for Nigeria … I AM is listening and watching!
