Osinbajo approves Mohammed as new TCN boss

Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, has approved the appointment of Mr. Usman Gur Mohammed as interim Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, has approved the appointment of Mr. Usman Gur Mohammed as interim Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

A letter dated February 9, 2017, signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, approved the disengagement of Dr. Abubakar Atiku as the chief executive of TCN with immediate effect and advised him to hand over the affairs of the company to Mohammed.

It conveyed Osinbajo’s appreciation to Lawal for his services to the country during his tenure, wishing him God’s guidance and best of luck in his future endeavours.

The letter read in part: “I write to inform you that the Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, has, in the exercise of his powers, approved your disengagement as the managing director/chief executive officer of the TCN with effect from Wednesday, February 8, 2017.”
