Ortom lauds dismissal of Miyetti suit against Benue anti-grazing law
Governor Samuel Ortom yesterday described the dismissal of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore’s suit against the Benue State Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law by the Federal High Court, Abuja presided over by Justice Okon Abang as victory for justice, democracy and rule of law.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, the governor maintained that the judiciary had again proven that it was indeed the last hope of the common people.
He said the judgment affirmed for the umpteenth that the law was duly enacted in the interest of Nigerians who wish to go into livestock business in the state.
Ortom pledged that his administration would keep implementing the law in a way that guarantees peace in all parts of Benue.
