Ortom dissociates self from vehicle campaign picture
Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has dissociated himself from a picture on a campaign vehicle with inscription comparing him (the governor) with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for humanity.
Ortom, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase and a copy made available to The Guardian, said as a Christian, he regards the inscription as heresy as he would never at any time equate himself with Jesus Christ.
“I have never instructed anyone to make such an inscription and wishes to dissociate myself from it,” he said.
“I want the people of the state and other Nigerians to disregard the inscription which might be the imagination of an overzealous supporter or the fabrication of political opportunists.”
