Samuel Ortom

Contrary to the publication in one of the national dailies listing Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom among 15 others involved in plans to form a new mega party ahead of the 2019 elections, the governor has denied any link with the party.

His Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Terver Akase, told The Guardian in Makurdi that the governor, as the standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in last year’s election, was elected by the people and is still enjoying their support, as he continues to deliver good governance, and couldn’t have been involved in any clandestine plot to launch another political party.

“My boss had at no time attended any meeting where the formation of the said new mega party was discussed. He has neither discussed such an idea with anyone nor given it a thought. He is a loyal member of the APC and is in full support of the leadership of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
