Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has condemned as unwarranted the action of some youths in Ukum LGA of the state for disrupting the burial ceremony of Ter Ukum, Chief Daniel Dzahan at the weekend.

The youths of the area had reportedly prevented the immediate past Governor of the State, Dr. Gabriel Suswam and his representative and current Commissioner for Agriculture; Mr. James Anbua from speaking at the burial, a development, which caused confusion at the burial as sympathizers were forced to disperse.

Orton, who in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Termer Ukase, expressed displeasure at the incident, recalling that he has always preached peace and harmony in all parts of the state as demonstrated by the amnesty programme of his administration.

He also recalled that the late Chief Dzahan was a peaceful man who loved and cared for his people, saying it is therefore unacceptable that some persons would disrupt his burial.
