Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has urged the people to re-elect him so as to achieve better service-delivery.

He made the call yesterday at the kickoff of his governorship re-election campaign, noting that the state will fare better if it is left in his hands for the next four years.

Addressing the mammoth crowd of PDP at the IBB Public Square in Makurdi, Ortom stressed the need for the people to remain resolute and vote in a way that will keep Benue safe after 2019 elections.

He said the state was passing through tough times and urged people of the state to remain united with one voice.

He urged them to reject all maneuvers aimed at putting Benue in the hands of individuals with questionable motives, who would always pander to the whims of external interests.

The governor further asserted that it was time for the people to choose wisely and refrain from electing people, or empowering men who are unwilling to give voice and recognition to pains being experienced by the people.

This, he, said had been the case with some of them who have been twisting the true narratives of misfortunes suffered by the state for their personal gains.

Ortom also said though he was voted as governor on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) because his party PDP refused to allow the will of God, and voice of the people to prevail, he had to find his back to seek for re-election bid.

He described the PDP as a pathway and political party that has given birth to modern Nigeria, adding that it is a rebranded and reformed party.

Also speaking, former governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswam, said voting in the 2019 elections in the state would not be based on political parties, but the very survival of Benue as a people.

He maintained that the APC government in the country has proven that it cannot protect Benue people and noted that governor has proven his worth to remain as governor for the next four years.

Former Senate President, David Mark urged the people to voted for Ortom because he has defended the people in the past three years.

He stressed that any vote for governor Ortom is a vote for peace and development.

Ex-Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, advised Benue people to vote out those he described as commercial politicians, who will never work for their interest.
