The fight against child-trafficking and abuse, as well as protection of rights of vulnerable children in the Southeast has taken a new turn, as the Association of Orphanages and Homes Operators in Nigeria (ASOHON) has resolved to partner with the Police in this regard.

This was made known in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, when the region’s chapter of the association visited the state Police Commissioner, Mr. Leye Oyabade, to intimate him of their resolution.

Leader of the team and Zonal Leader/Social Taskforce Chairman, Akpuluonu Godson Edobor, who led the team, said they were determined to stop child-trafficking and abuse and absolved members of his association from allegations of engaging in the act.

The association warned those engaged or intending to engage in the act to desist or face the consequences when apprehended.
