OOA Foundation bags international recognition

The Oladiran Olusegun Adebutu Foundation (OOA Foundation) has earned global recognition, becoming the only African-based donor accepted as delegate at this year’s Opportunity Collaboration summit in Mexico.

The event brings together 350 thought leaders and the most innovative donors in the poverty alleviation space every October.Founded by Mr. Olusegun Adebutu, OOA stood out as the sole representative of Africa’s rising philanthropic initiative.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kemi Sokenu Morris, was celebrated, having played key roles in international aid, Corporate Social Responsibility in Nigeria and with the Ogun State government before assuming her current role.

The foundation focuses on economic empowerment, health, community investments, philanthropy, vocational enterprise for vulnerable women and children in crisis.

OOA was recognised for its work with Generation Enterprise, a groundbreaking Lagos-based non-governmental organisation, which is celebrating its third year as an Opportunity Collaboration delegate.

The organisation launches startups with youth in slums. In the past, it was responsible for incubating over 500 youth-led micro-enterprises and setting up pioneering youth entrepreneurship programmes in Lagos and Osun States, as well as the Aso Villa Demo Day attended by Mark Zuckerberg last year.

Generation Enterprise’s Managing Director, Bunmi Otegbade, was honored with a Cordes Fellowship. Otegbade had just spent the last summer as guest of the Danish government and the United Nations via the UNLEASH LAB programme for top global talents tackling the Sustainable Development Goals.
