Onu Urges Nigerians To Be Patient With Buhari
NATIONAL leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Ogbonnaya Onu yesterday elicited the support of Nigerians yearning for good governance under the Muhammadu Buhari led administration.
Speaking when representatives and leaders of the APC of Igbo extraction in the federal capital territory (FCT) paid him a solidarity visit in Abuja, he urged Nigerians to exercise patience in view of the fact that President Buhari is leaving no stone unturned to redress the multifaceted problems bedevilling the country.
He did not mince words in blaming the 16 years of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration for the rot in the country.
He said unknown to Nigerians, Buhari has discovered after barely one week in office that the problems confronting Nigeria is more than what the APC bandied while eliciting the support of Nigerians during the campaigns for the recently held general elections.
He maintained that with the enormous problems at hand, President Buhari requires enough time to be able to lay a solid foundation required to reposition the country to achieve growth and prosperity.
According to him: “We all know that when you want to build a house, you have to build a house that can withstand all seasons, such building must have a strong foundation so that it can withstand a strong wind from blowing it off.”
Assuring that President Buhari would live up to expectations, he thanked the entourage over the role they played in wooing supporters to the APC in the 19 states of the North and the FCT.
Onu, who is being tipped for the position of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) urged the entourage not to relent in eliciting support for the APC across the country.
APC’s FCT first Vice Chairman, Mrs. Evelyn Chukwu, who spoke on behalf of the entourage eulogised Onu over the pioneering role he played in the formation of the APC. Expressing happiness that the APC swept the poll, she expressed their willingness to be at the beck and call of Onu whenever the need arises.
