Members of the Ondo State Artisans and Trade Union, OSATU, on Thursday, endorsed and declared their support for former Governor of the state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, as their preferred candidate to represent Ondo Central Senatorial district at the Senate in 2019.

The former Governor is the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) for Ondo Central Senatorial district in the 2019 elections.
The group, speaking through its President, Mrs Adedotun Ogundana, made the declaration at a meeting with the former Governor in Akure.
She described Mimiko as a dependable ally, saying he is artisan-friendly, and his programmes and empowerment schemes for artisans during his time as Ondo state governor were enough to earn him the group’s support.
The group said, “Mimiko is artisans-friendly. He was the first governor in the history of Ondo state to make artisans feel important as part of government by organising first Artisans Day, giving us access to soft loans, directly patronising us. He also invested in training for Artisans and Traders across the state.
“He is dependable and we strongly believe if given another opportunity to represent the people of Ondo Central Senatorial district at the Senate, he will, yet again, make positive impacts and add value to his constituents”.
In different remarks, some members of the group attested to how the empowerment programmes of the former governor changed their lives and businesses for better.
Mimiko, in his remarks, reassured the group of his commitment to always work for the development of his people.
