Ondo Youths wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have urged the party’s national leadership to provide a level playing field for all aspirants, if the party really wants to win the forthcoming election.

In a statement, by its coordinator, Ojo Olatunji, the PDP youths, under the Democratic Reformation Force (DRF) said: “We have remained loyal and committed to this party in the last four years. The party’s leadership must not allow money politics to wish away our seat. Anybody is allowed to support any aspirant, but the method of using money to woo supporters of other aspirants is the highest level of deceit. Those of us in DRF have pledged to support Okunomo and we have also begun mass mobilisation to counter any move.”

According to Olatunji, it was unimaginable for PDP youths to endure pain and hunger for four years, only for the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, to reap where others had laboured. He threatened that Ondo PDP youths would rather join the campaign train of Okunomo than the deputy governor as a way of rewarding party loyalty.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr. Babatope Okeowo, refused to comment on the allegation that Ajayi was financially inducing party members to support him.
