DELTA State Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and the leadership of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have commiserated with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele over the death of his mother, Mrs. Alice Emefiele.

In a condolence message, Okowa described Mrs.
Emefiele, who died on Christmas day at 94 years, as a “great loss not only to the Emefiele family but also to the entire state and the nation in general, giving her invaluable contributions to the cause of humanity.”

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary,
Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, the governor said the matriarch’s invaluable care and support for her children led to the son’s emergence as the Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc and later Governor of the apex bank.

He prayed the Almighty God to grant repose to her soul and give the Emefiele family, the people of the state and the entire nation the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

State APC leader, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, in a condolence message signed by Director of Media, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, said: “It is always painful to lose one’s mother; no matter the age because of the strong bond of love between a good mother and her loved children.

He urged the CBN Governor to take the departure with a pitch of the salt, knowing fully well that “death is an inevitable end for all mortals no matter the societal, professional or spiritual status.

Emerhor pray God to grant the deceased eternal rest while commending the enviable and successful life of Emefiele’s matriarch, being a proud mother of a highly successful banker, world-class technocrat and helmsman of the nation’s apex bank.
