Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has commiserated with the Catholic community and the family of slain priest of the church, Revd. Fr. Jude Egbom.

The Late Egbom, until he was gruesomely shot while he went to cut his hair during the week, was the priest of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Amucha, Njaba Local Council of the state.

In a statement signed signed by Okorocha’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Sam Onwuemeodo, he remarked that the zeal with which the police apprehended two of the killers, was commendable, expressing disappointment that young boys could turn themselves into enemies of society.

The statement said the governor would continue to synergize with the security agencies to chase criminals away from the state.

Meanwhile, a combined team of the Imo State Police and Department of State Service (DSS) has arrested 10 persons over sale of the nation’s currency.

The security operatives recovered N5.6 million from them during a sting operation.

Briefing journalists yesterday in Owerri, the State Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galandachi, disclosed that the suspects were arrested because they erred against the currency Act as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) only, has the right to regulate and issue Nigeria currency.
