Okorocha pardons 26 suspended monarchs
Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, yesterday lifted the suspension placed on 26 traditional rulers in the state.
In a statement issued in Owerri by the Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, to Secretary to the state government, Freedom Ekewuba, he said they have been restored with their rights and privileges’ into the monarchs’ council in the state.
The names of the affected monarchs are, Alex I. F. Ike of Umukwo, Aboh Mbaise Local Council, R.E. Adindu- Umunachi, Obowo, Christian Nwosu (Amebu- Ebenator- Orsu), E. Nkume (Njaba), T. N. Onyenekwu (Eziowo 11, Oru East), Malachi Iwuala (Umuopko Nkume- Njaba), C.S. Ugochukwu (Umundugba, Isu) and Eze B. N. Amanfo (Ofekata 11, Orodo).
Others, the statement named are, S.M. Onyemeko (Umuoma- Ihitteuboma), M. M. Keke (Amaiyinta- Ihitteuboma, Edward Njoku (Umuenyi- Isiala Mbano), Godwn Okwuaka (Asa Ubirielem- Orsu), Sunday E. Okoro(Emii, Owerri North), Ken Mbijiefe (Amagu Obizi), O. E. Ukpabi (Ibeku, Aboh Mbaise), Damian O. Nwaigwe (Mbutu, Aboh Mbaise) and C. O. Nnaji (Amuri, Umanze).
The statement also included, Emma Obiako (Umume Obidiukwu), Bonatus E. Iwu (Obowo), Donatus Eze (Avuvu, Ikeduru), S.P. Iwu (Okirika, Ahiazu Mbaise), Gabriel Amaku (Isiala Mbano), Stephen U. Ugochukwu (Mbutu Nwankwo, Aboh Mbaise) G. C. Ogbonna (Ipkerejere- Ihitteuboma), Barbless Alilionwu (Okweumu Iheoma, Ahiazu Mbaise) and E.I.G. Anyabuike of Diakuma, Onuimo autonomous communities.
