Okorocha budgets N131.1 billion
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State yesterday presented to the Imo House of Assembly, a budget proposal of N131.143,144,277 (One hundred and thirty one billion, one hundred and forty three million, one hundred and forty-four thousand, two hundred and seventy seven naira), for the 2017 fiscal year.
According to Okorocha in the budget proposal tagged ”Budget of Consolidation and Continuity”, it is higher than the 2016 budget by N28, 934,662,247 billion (28.3 per cent).
N77, 413 billion, representing 59.03 per cent, was proposed for capital expenditure, while N53.730 billion, representing 40.97 per cent is for recurrent expenditure.
Works and Transport is proposed to gulp N31, 595,500,000 billion, and Agriculture and Environment take N6, 441,944,168 billion and Education, N4, 503,500,000 billion.
