Okorocha accuses Ihedioha of spending N16bn on fake protests, media attacks, fictitious renovations 

Former Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, has accused his successor, Emeka Ihedioha, of expending N16 billion on stage-managed protests, media attacks, and fictitious renovations.

Okorocha made the allegations yesterday, in a statement signed by the former governor’s Special Adviser (Media), Sam Onwuemeodo. But in a previous media post, Ihedioha, through his Special Adviser on Research, Ogu Bundu Nwadike, had told Okorocha that established cases pointed accusing fingers at him (Okorocha) that he was culpable of looting.

Association of professionals in the state and groups led by Emeka Diwe had staged a peaceful protest on Thursday, asking Ihedioha to institute a panel to probe Okorocha for looting the state dry. 

“Ihedioha obviously is intimidated by Okorocha’s achievements, and having known that he cannot achieve one-tenth of all that Okorocha did, they have decided to discredit his achievements. They have also begun to damage some of the former governor’s projects to back their claim of embarking on fictitious renovations, spending billions to that effect.

“The new governor has found fault with all that Okorocha did, this is very unfortunate. They are traumatized that what the PDP could not do in 12 years, we did in eight years but that is their headache.

The statement concluded by saying that the former governor was convinced that no sane Imo man would embark on a protest against him (Okorocha).
