Okomu Oil rewards deserving workers, MD gets award

Okomu Oil Palm Company has splashed over N15 Million in cash on over 40 workers for their commitment and dedication to work.

Also, the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) Benin Study centre has honoured the Managing Director of the company, Dr. Graham Hefer, with an outstanding media recognition award.

Communication officer, Okomu Oil Palm, Fidelis Olise, who received the award on behalf of the recipient, appreciated the institute for the recognition.

Presiding over the long service award ceremony for deserving staff for their dedication and loyalty to the company, Hefer called on the benefiting workers to look forward to more responsibilities, pointing out that such high demand was inevitable to make the company a success.

The beneficiaries who had spent between 10, 15 and 2 staff for their dedication and loyalty to the company, Hefer called on the benefiting workers to look forward to more responsibilities, pointing out that such high demand was inevitable to make the company a success.

The beneficiaries who had spent between 10, 15 and 25 years in the service of the company went home with complete set of furniture, beddings.

Other items presented to the workers included furniture wardrobes, deep freezers, plasma television sets and dinning sets, as well as cash sum presented in cheques.

“The workers have been loyal and dedicated to the company; they have also been the foundation stone of the company. The more people like you we have, the better since they will move the company forward,” Hefer said.

Earlier, the company’s agriculture coordinator, Billy Ganza and communications officer, Socfin Group, Brussels, Caroline Snock, lauded the workers for their steadfastness and commitment.

The workers’ union chairman, Kennedy Oyesome, thanked the management and pledged members readiness to continue to put in their best to ensure quality service delivery.
