The Primate, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and Archbishop of Abuja, the Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, has decried the level of insecurity in the country, urging Nigerians to pray for the government, so that God could grant it the wisdom to act decisively to surmount the security challenges.

Okoh, who spoke at the 10th consecration anniversary and 50th birthday celebration service of Rev. Humphrey Olumakaiye, the Bishop of Lagos, Anglican Communion, yesterday, at the Cathedral Church of Christ in Marina, Lagos, also decried the state of roads in-country, as well as the activities of kidnappers and armed robbers, saying it was becoming difficult for anyone to travel on Nigeria roads and get home safely.

“Insecurity on our roads, farms, houses, among others, has become proverbial and we need to pray for the government to rise up to the occasion so that our farms can be safe.

“People are so desperate today that they want to make it by any means, not minding whose ox is gored, and this calls for Nigerians prayers,” he said.

He congratulated Olumakaiye for his luck to have been born of godly parents, who not only taught him the way of God to follow but also made themselves role models for him, saying: “God has been guiding you and prospering you because your parents laid a good foundation for you.

“You have been able to arrive at a very great height in your calling and you need to thank God who has made you stand today on a very high pedestal.”
