court.jpg-citynewsTO strengthen the relationship between the Judiciary and the Ogun State Police Command, the Commandon Wednesday deployed a senior police officer as a Liaison Officer to the State judiciary.

The deployment was sequel to a request made by the Chief Judge, Honourable Justice Olatokunbo Olopade when the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Valentine Ntomchukwu paid her (the Chief Judge) a courtesy visit at her office in Abeokuta, the State capital.

Justice Olopade stated that the decision to request for increase in security personnel in court premises across the state was to forestall a reoccurrence of a similar scenario at the Ekiti State High Court premises where hoodlums went berserk, damaging property and molesting individuals within the court premises..

Her words: “The presence of security personnel at our courts was inadequate and we thought it will be wise to put necessary measures in place in order to avoid a repeat of the ugly scenario that occurred at the Ekiti State High Court premises where hoodlums went on rampage injuring people and damaging property worth millions of Naira”
