A report of the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF), Mr. Mohammed U.E. on the Offa robbery case, has directed the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to hand over the case to the Attorney General of Kwara State for trial.

The police last week announced the death of a principal suspect, Michael Adikwu, in custody, a development which attracted reactions from the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and others.

The DPPF, which operates under the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, said in a letter dated August 23, 2018, and addressed to the IGP, that “contrary to the views expressed by the police in an updated report, DPP Office, has always shown commitment to effectively prosecute all cases against individuals and corporate bodies, no matter how highly- placed with a lot of success.”
