Obasanjo, Daniel mourn Bush, Fasehun
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has condoled with President Donald Trump, the people and government of United States over the passage of his one-time leader, Mr. George H.W Bush. The Senior Bush died at 94 at the weekend.
In a condolence message yesterday in Abeokuta, Obasanjo described Bush’s death as a great loss not only to his immediate family and country, but also to the entire world.
To him, Bush’s tenure “marked a significant departure from the traditional relations between Africa and the United States.”
Also yesterday, one-time governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, described the late founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Dr. Frederick Fasehun, as a fearless fighter and a great Yoruba leader whose contributions to nation-building and entrenchment of democratic ideals would be greatly missed.
In a message by his Media Officer, Ayo Giwa, Daniel stated that he was saddened by the death of Fasehun, “especially at this crucial period of our national life when his wealth of experience and wisdom matter.”
