NSCDC impounds NNPC tanker over fuel diversion
In a bid to curtail the perennial fuel scarcity across the country, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, yesterday impounded an NNPC branded truck, with Registration number FST 309 XR for diversion of 11,000 litres of fuel.
The truck was arrested by the officers of the command while discharging the product at Satabest Filling Station, along Ijoka road, Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The Guardian learnt that at the time the truck was intercepted, it had already discharged 22,000 litres of the product in an undisclosed station earlier.
The state Commandant, Mr. Adeyinka Fasiu, disclosed that the waybill of the product didn’t specify the destination, meaning that the product was being diverted to avoid selling at the official pump price at any NNPC or major marketers’ station.
